Friar Fans,
This week in FRIARTOWN I will be speaking to the incoming freshmen class of 2013 in the Peterson Recreation Center. For many students, this will be their first interaction with the athletics department. It is imperative we make a lasting impression. In the speech, I hope to talk about what it means to be a Providence College student-athlete as well as get everyone fired up for the 2009-10 athletics season.
The incoming freshmen will be pleased to hear that Providence College has just inked a deal with Cox Communications that will allow them to broadcast their cable channel campus-wide. This means that Providence College Men's Basketball home games and various away games can be seen in all of the dorms on campus.
In addition to signing with Cox, we have signed a deal with NBC 10 that allows for greater marketing opportunities including: cross-promotion online, improvements to the Keno Davis Show and greater coverage of PC athletic events.
I am glad to see most of our fall sports are back in action. I hope to see you at the games to cheer them on.
