Dear Friar Fans,
Last week I made a four hour drive to Burlington to spend some time with my good friend, former collegiate teammate and current University of Vermont Athletics Director, Bob Corran. On Wednesday, I visited the University of Connecticut to meet with Athletics Director Jeff Hathaway. Both of these meetings provided me with a great opportunity to examine and compare their facilities to our facilities at Providence College. During the discussions, we concentrated on what it takes to build a successful team. After brainstorming with my colleagues, I am optimistic about the future of Friar Athletics. I strongly believe that we can make a better, more successful program here in FRIARTOWN.
In other news, the countdown to the start of another thrilling athletic season here in FRIARTOWN began this week with the arrival of the volleyball, the field hockey, and the men's and women's soccer teams. Men's and women's cross country are also on campus working hard to improve upon an impressive 2008 season.
I would like to personally invite you to come watch great college athletics here at Providence College this fall as they take on some of the best competition from around the nation.
Best wishes!
Go Friars!
