Things in Friartown are really starting to heat up.
I am excited to report that following the most successful season of any first-year head basketball coach in the history of Providence College, Head Coach Keno Davis has received a contract extension. I am confident that under Coach Davis' leadership, our basketball program has a very bright future.
Construction on our new men's lacrosse office suite is underway and the finishing touches on a "state of the art" club room for men's and women's hockey also has been completed recently. I want to thank all of our generous Alums, who donated over $300,000 to this project for making it happen.
We have other exciting projects on tap this summer with the renovations of the Alumni Hall gym floor and the painting of our facilities as well.
I tell our student athletes all the time that you have one chance to make a first impression. Our improved facilities are a way of making a statement that we are serious about becoming one of the most respected athletic programs in the nation that competes for championships.
I hope you are enjoying the beautiful summer weather we have had and I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming Friar game this fall.
Take care & GO FRIARS!
