Providence College Tennis Sweeps Emory & Henry, 7-0

The Providence College women's tennis squad improved to 3-1 on the spring season with a 7-0 victory over Emory & Henry College on Wednesday, February 27 in Orlando, Fla. Providence welcomed back senior Kate Danaher (Norwood, Mass.) for her first match of the 2008 season. Danaher competed in the No. 6 singles, defeating Sarah Childress 6-1, 6-0. Classmate Kate Lyons (Barrington, R.I.) and junior Ashley Rissolo (Southport, Conn.) each won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Lyons competed in the No. 4 singles spot while Rissolo took the No. 1 position.
The Friars continue their Spring Break trip in Florida on Thursday, February 28 when they take on Mount Saint Mary's at 11:00 a.m. and then finish the day against the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez at 5:00 p.m.
