The Providence College swimming and diving teams traveled to Kingston, R.I. on Saturday, February 9 for the New England Invitational. In the individually-scored meet, the Friar men and women tallied nine first-place finishes combined.

Junior Blair Flynn (Middletown, R.I.), sophomore Matthew Card (Bow, N.H.), and freshman Alexis Fatigati (New Milford, N.J.) each earned a solo event win as well as a relay event win. Flynn's individual win came in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.59) while Fatigati's came in the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.90). The two teamed up with sophomores Carrie Lamb (New Paltz, N.Y.) and Patricia Osmolak (Harmony, Ill.) to take first in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Card's individual win came in the 400-yard IM (4:27.70).

The Friars are back in action on February 21-23 when they travel to East Meadow, N.Y. for the BIG EAST Championships. Events start Friday, February 21 at 10:00 a.m.
