Dear Friar Fans,
In my previous blog, I talked about our NCAA accreditation visit. I am pleased to report their visit went extremely well and with only a few minor issues, our athletic program received a very positive review.
On the competitive front, our fall sport teams are off to a good start. With our recent 3-0 victory over Villanova this past weekend, our field hockey program is now ranked 19th in the nation. In addition, both men's and women's Cross Country are ranked 22nd and 20th respectfully, following a strong showing at Notre Dame this past Friday.
We are just nine days from the official start of men's and women's basketball with Late Night Madness tipping off on October 17th here at Alumni Hall. Come enjoy the start of the Keno Davis era in Friartown.
I also wanted to let you know that the men's basketball season tickets are currently available and individual game tickets will go on sale on October 17th. Despite our uncertain economy I am pleased to report that over 75% of our loyal season ticket holders have already renewed their tickets. I am very appreciative of your tremendous support and want you to know that we have been hard at work to build a program that you will be proud of. As Coach Davis recently stated "When you come to the Dunkin' Donuts Center this season you will leave knowing that our team was never outworked. I guarantee it."
Warm regards and GO FRIARS!
Bob Driscoll
