Friar Athletics Host Canavan Sports Medicine Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Athletics Director Bob Driscoll and Providence College President Rev. Brian J. Shanley welcomed Joe Canavan `65 and wife, MaryBeth, to Alumni Hall on Friday, October 17. With the help of the Canavan family's generosity, the Friar Athletic Department officially opened the Canavan Sports Medicine Center. The event concluded with the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon. The facility features a new rehabilitation area, physician examination rooms, office space for the staff, and a hydrotherapy room which includes a SwimEx rehab pool and two plunges for cold/hot therapy.
