1987 Final Four Weekend Celebration Culmunates At Convention Center

The weekend long celebration commemorating the 1987 Friars' men's basketball trip to the Final Four culminated on the evening of Saturday, May 12, 2007 at the Rhode Island Convention Center. The evening was filled with a banquet, silent auction and personal accounts from the players and coaches of that magical year.

Some of the biggest names in basketball were in attendance as the 1987 team was honored. Billy Donovan, Rick Pitino, Herb Sendek, Jeff Van Gundy, Dave Gavitt, and Jim Boeheim, just to name a few, were all included in Saturday's festivities. The banquet portion of the evening was co-hosted by Sean McDonough and Bill Raftery.
