Providence College Hosts First Annual Student-Athlete Academic Achievement Ceremony

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College hosted the First Annual Student-Athlete Academic Achievement Ceremony on Monday, February 5 at McPhail's on the ground level of the Slavin Center. A total of 25 student-athletes were honored for their academic excellence, which they demonstrated by attaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or greater.
Bernadette Boyle, a senior on the women's cross country and track teams, also was honored for having the best GPA among the 25 honorees. Boyle earned a 3.94 GPA. Mary Nelle Trefz, a member of the women's cross country and track teams, had the highest GPA among juniors, while Kyle Laughlin of the men's hockey team and Patricia Osmolak of the women's swimming team had the best GPAs among sophomores and freshmen, respectively.
