PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence women's ice hockey coach, Bob Deraney, announced today that Sarah Feldman (Fall River, Mass.) has been added to the 2006-07 roster. Feldman is joining the Friars, as a junior, after playing her freshman and sophomore seasons at Boston College. "We are very excited to be able to add a local product, that is not only a great hockey player but also a great person, Head Coach Bob Deraney sair. We are very pleased to welcome Sarah Feldman and her family to our program and look forward to the 2006-07 campaign."
In her first two seasons, Feldman amassed 30 goals and 30 assists while playing in all of the Eagles'69 games. During her freshman campaign, Feldman was second on the team in goals with 16. She did not let up in her sophomore year, tallying another 14 goals and a team best 18 assists. Sarah was named Hockey East Rookie of the Month twice and Rookie of the Week two consecutive weeks. She also was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team.
A native of Fall River, Mass., Feldman player her high school hockey at Tabor Academy. She was named team MVP in her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.
