Seventh Annual Friar Golf Classic A Success

WARWICK, R.I. - More than 150 people turned out for the seventh annual Friar Golf Classic on Monday afternoon, June 5 at the Warwick Country Club. The Tournament, which benefits the Providence College Friar Athletic Fund, featured more than 30 four-somes including Providence College President Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P., Athletic Director Bob Driscoll, Coaches Tim Welsh, Tim Army and Phil Seymore.
In addition to a round of golf at the prestigious course, the event included a lunch buffet, complimentary beverages during play, a gift pack, and dinner reception. The tournament also included a longest drive competition, putting contest, a hole-in-one competition, raffle and silent auction.
Presenting Sponsors for this year's tournament were Hurley of America, Mortgage Guarantee & Title Company, Sovereign Bank, and Cox Sports Television. The Providence College Athletic Department would like to thank everyone involved with the event, including all of our sponsors, who helped make this year's Golf Classic a tremendous success!
