PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) participated in an afternoon of sports and pizza with a number of boisterous kids from the Bradley Hospital at the Kent Heights Park in East Providence, R.I. More than 20 student-athletes and representatives from the PC Athletic Department participated in games of soccer, wiffle ball, basketball and highly competitive dodge ball.
Coordinated by Associate Athletic Administrator and SWA Jill LaPoint and organized by SAAC treasurer Annie Fiorvanti (Northport, N.Y.), the event was wildly successful for everyone involved.
"It was excellent opportunity to see these kids actively involved in sports and having fun just being kids," said Fiorvanti, also a senior on the volleyball squad. For me personally, it was great to see how well the kids accepted us and got along with us. They really welcomed us into their group and allowed us to become part of it."
