ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) - Sharaud Curry hit the winning jumper with 10.7 seconds left and Herbert Hill had 20 points to lead Providence to a 61-60 victory over DePaul on Tuesday night.
Trailing 60-59, Curry juked DePaul defender Jabari Currie out to free himself up for the eventual game-winning jumper. DePaul had a chance to win the game, but Sammy Mejia missed a shot in the paint with two seconds to go.
DePaul fouled Hill, who missed the first of a one-and-one, but the Blue Demons weren't able to convert a full court in-bounds play with just under a second left.
Donnie McGrath finished with 17 points and Curry added 10 for the Friars, who improved to 11-10 and 4-6 in the Big East.
McGrath drove right by the DePaul defense to tie the game at 59 with 1:25 remaining in the game. On the other end, Marlon Brumfield hit one of two free throws to give the Blue Demons a 60-59 lead.
Sammy Mejia led DePaul with 17 points, but was just 2-of-6 from the free throw line.
DePaul, which led most of the second half, extended its lead to 59-52 on Wilson Chandler's dunk with 4:59 left in the game. Curry responded with a 3 for Providence and Geoff McDermott added another basket to cut the Blue Demons' lead to 59-57 with 3:55 left.
