Women's Tennis Opens Fall Season at Fairfield

The Providence College women's tennis team opened the fall season at the Fairfield Doubles Invitational in Fairfield, Conn. on Saturday, September 10 in Fairfield, Conn. Competitors included teams from Stony Brook, Sacred Heart, Connecticut, Holy Cross, Fairfield, Rhode Island, and Albany. The Friars' doubles team of senior Sara Bitetti (Norwell, Mass.) and junior Jen Daigle (East Greenbush, N.Y.) led the team, posting a 2-1 mark in the Pool A standings. Bitetti and Daigle posted victories over Fairfield and UConn, before losing to Stony Brook in the finals. The Friars will return to action on Sunday, September 25 at Hartford at 11:00 a.m.
