Swimming And Diving Downed At Rhode Island

KINGSTON, R.I. - The Providence College men's and women's swimming and diving teams took on the University of Rhode Island in dual meet competition at URI's Tootell Aquatic Center on Wednesday night, Nov. 2.
The PC men (1-2) won two events, but lost by the score of 150-70. The PC women (1-2) won three events, but lost by the score of 147-89.
On the women's side, PC junior Annie Nemeth (Pittsburgh, Pa.) won both the 200-yard IM (2:15.25) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:28.42). Freshman Blair Flynn (Middletown, R.I.) finished right behind Nemeth in the 200-yard IM with a second-place time of 2:15.35. In the 200-yard butterfly, junior Katelyn Flynn (Sinking Spring, Pa.) won the event with a time of 2:12.25.
On the men's side, the 400-yard freestyle relay quartet of senior captain Seth Brockman (Kenner, La.), junior Tom McLoughlin (Leonardo, N.J.), senior Michael Kerwin (Point Pleasant, N.J.) and freshman Justin Rich (Branford, Conn.) won the event with a time of 3:23.25. Additionally, freshman Chris Ray (Basking Ridge, N.J.) won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:22.96.
The Providence College men's swimming and diving team returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at Boston College. The PC women return to action on Saturday, Nov. 12 at Montclair State.
