Tennis to Compete at New England Championship

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College tennis team will travel to Fairfield, Conn. this weekend to defend their Championship title at the New Englands. PC's top players, senior Sara Bitetti (Norwell, Mass.) and junior Jennifer Daigle (East Greenbush, N.Y.) are seeded second at No. 1 doubles, while Daigle is also a second seed at No. 1 singles.

Last year at the N.E.C.'s, Bitetti battled her way to a second place finish at No. 2 singles and placed first at No. 2 doubles with former teammate Lindsey Christensen. Daigle, the 2003 Champion at No. 1 singles, did not compete in the 2004 New Englands.

So far this season, Bitetti and Daigle have compiled a 7-3 record playing at first doubles position and boast a 13-5 record in two years of playing together.

At No. 1 singles this season, Daigle is cuttently 5-1. Through her career, she has tallied a 14-9-1 at the No. 1 position.
