Women's Swimming Sunk At Vermont, 172-128

BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Providence College women's swimming and diving team (4-5) was defeated by the University of Vermont, 172-128, this afternoon in action at UVM's Forbush Natatorium. Providence sophomore Annie Nemeth (Pittsburgh, Pa.) won three events including the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.15), 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.64) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.59).

Sophomore Carolyn Rider (Freehold, N.J.) won the 100-yard backstroke for the Friars with a first-place time of 1:03.44, while sophomore Katelyn Flynn (Sinking Springs, Pa.) won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:14.12.

Senior Jamie Modon-Cohen (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) won the one-meter dive with a score of 186.35, and the three-meter dive with a score of 214.05.

Complete results will be available on Monday.

Providence women's swimming and diving returns to action next Saturday, Feb. 5 as it travels to Bridgeport, Conn., to take on Sacred Heart. The meet is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
