Women's Ice Hockey Ranked No. 9 in National Polls

The Providence College women's ice hockey team held steady in the No. 9 spot in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Poll for the second consecutive week. In the U.S. College Hockey Online Poll, the Friars, who defeated Ohio State University, 4-2, on Saturday, November 16 and the University of Findlay, 1-0, on Sunday, November 17, fell to the No. 9 spot despite their victories over the weekend.

The University of Minnesota jumped to the No. 1 spot in both polls as they defeated No. 6 Brown, 5-3, and No. 2 Harvard, 4-3. Minnesota-Duluth fell to the No. 3 spot as they were defeated over the weekend by No. 2 Harvard, 2-1, and tied No. 6 Brown, 1-1. Wisconsin stayed at No. 7 in the UCSHO. com poll and fell to No. 8 in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine poll. Mercyhurst College rounded out the top ten.

Providence plays this weekend at No. 4 Dartmouth College on Saturday, November 23 at 2:00 p.m.
