PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Abdul Mills scored 17 points to lead three Providence teammates in double figures as the Friars rolled to a 91-47 victory Thursday night over winless Morgan State.
Marcus Douthit added 14 points and John Linehan contributed 12 points and game-high totals of nine assists and seven steals for Providence (8-4), which has now won three straight.
The Bears (0-10) were led by Cedrik Barrow and Aaron Andrews with 10 points each.
Morgan State's leading scorer, Curtis King, came into the game averaging 15 points on 60 percent shooting, but was held to 9 points on 3-of-10 shooting.
Providence started slowly, trailing 7-3 on a layup by King at 13:41. But paced by Mills' 14 first-half points, the Friars closed the half on a 42-16 run.
The Friars forced 29 turnovers and made 17 steals, increasing their lead to as much as 48 in the second half.
The Bears shot just 28 percent in the second half, while Providence shot 58 percent.
