CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. -- The Providence College men's hockey team was defeated, 4-1, at Boston College in a mid-week HOCKEY EAST league contest on Wednesday, November 14 at BC's Kelley Rink in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

In the first period, Boston College jumped out to a two-goal lead, scoring 4:06 and 5:23 into the contest. Ben Eaves' goal, which got the scoring started, beat PC's Nolan Schaefer (Yellow Grass, Sask.) through the pads as PC players scrambled to clear a rebound.

Providence's Regan Kelly (Imperial, Sask.) cut the Eagle's lead in half, scoring on a feed in front of the BC goal by the Friars' Drew Omicioli (West Warwick, R.I.) and senior Peter Fregoe (Massena, N.Y.). Boston College increased their lead to 3-1 just 2:58 after Kelly scored his first goal of the season for PC.

In the second period, BC's J.D. Forrest scored on a power play in increase the Eagle's lead to 4-1. The goal, scored at 5:23, was assisted by Ben Eaves and Dave Spina.

There was no scoring in the final 20 minutes of the contest. Providence's Schaefer made a total of 31 saves in the contest while Kaltianen made 19 saves in the win for BC.

The Friars return to action on Saturday, November 17 when they host the University of New Hampshire at 7:00 p.m. at PC's Schneider Arena.
