PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's and women's swimming and diving teams swept a dual meet with Fairfield University on Saturday, November 4th at Providence's Taylor Natatorium.

The Friars' teams won their first meet of the season as the men won, 133-108, and the women won, 190-53.

On the women's side, Providence College dominated, placing first in every event. Senior Lori Cosman (Newburgh, N.Y.) tallied points with a first-place finish in the 50 meter free (27.94), a first-place finish in the 200 meter IM (2:22.17) and with a first-place finish in the 100 free (1:00.79).

The men's team was led by freshman Patrick Kavanagh (Newburgh, N.Y.), who placed first in the 800 meter free (10:00.52) and was first in the 400 meter free (4:34.65), and senior Mike Frenza (Watertown, Conn.), who finished first in the 200 meter free (2:04.79) and first in the 200 meyer fly (2:24.72).
