MERRIMACK COLLEGE (6-7-1, 2-5-0) - The Merrimack Warriors travel to Providence College on Friday, December 1 for a 7:00 p.m. faceoff. Merrimack enters Friday's game with an overall record of 6-7-1 with a 2-5-0 mark in HOCKEY EAST action. Last weekend, the Warriors swept CCHA foe the University of Nebraska-Omaha, 2-0 and 2-1, at the Volpe Complex. The Warriors last win at Schneider Arena was a 4-3 victory on November 5, 1994. Anthony Aquino (Missisauga, Ont.), a sophomore forward, leads the team in scoring with 15 points (four goals, 11 assists). Senior Tom Welby (West Roxbury, Mass.) and sophomore Joe Exter (Cranston, R.I.) have split time in goal this season for the Warriors. The pair has posted a 6-7-1 record with a 3.34 goals against average and an .895 save percentage. Exter is the reigning HOCKEY EAST Defensive Player of the Week, after allowing one goal in the squad's two victories over Nebraska-Omaha last weekend.

PROVIDENCE COLLEGE (7-2-3, 4-1-1) - The Friars enter the weekend ranked eighth in the nation as they begin a home-and-home series against Merrimack. Friday night's game marks the 78th contest between the Friars and the Warriors. Last season, the Friars posted a 2-1-0 record versus Merrimack with one of the wins coming at Schneider Arena, 4-1, on December 3, and the other a 4-3 overtime win at the Volpe Complex on February 5, 2000. Last weekend, the Friars posted a 0-0-2 record. On Friday, November 24, Providence tied ninth-ranked Colorado College, 1-1, at the Colorado Springs World Arena. The following night, PC tied the Denver Pioneers, 3-3, at Magness Arena, in Denver Colo. The Friars have been led offensively by sophomore Devin Rask's (Parkside, Saskatchewan) 14 points (eight goals, six assists) in 11 games. Senior netminder Boyd Ballard (Weyburn, Saskatchewan) and sophomore Nolan Schaefer (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan) have combined to record a 2.04 goals against average and a .938 save percentage.
