The Eagles took a 1-0 lead when Matt Mulhern fired a shot from the left face off circle which directed off goaltender Mark Kane's stick into the net at 4:38 of the first period. Boston College increased its lead to 2-0 when Andy Powers took a feed off the face off and slipped a low shot past Kane at 14:07 of the first.
