PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Erron Maxey's 8-foot shot from the left baseline with half a second left gave Providence a 64-62 comeback victory over Georgetown on Saturday.

Trailing by 12 at the break, the Friars (16-12, 9-9 Big East) grabbed their first lead of the game, 47-42, after Jamal Camah and Justin Farley scored a combined 13 points in a 25-12 run in the first nine minutes of the second half. Thereafter the game was tied twice and the lead exchanged hands five times.

Farley led all scorers with 25 points, tying his career high. Maxey added 14 points for the Friars. Anthony Perry's 18 points topped the Hoyas (14-14, 6-12).

The Hoyas took a 30-22 lead into intermission before the Friars' harassing defense, which caused a season-high 25 turnovers by the Hoyas, helped turn around the game early in the second half.

Providence's Jamal Thomas, the second leading scorer in the Big East, was held scoreless in the first half and to a season-low nine points in the game.
