DARTMOUTH COLLEGE (2-3-2) - On Friday, Dartmouth College will be playing its first game in 13 days. Dartmouth defeated Western Michigan, 4-3, in its last game on November 27 ... The Big Green are currently in 10th place in the ECAC with a 1-2-2 mark ... Friday's game will mark the return of Dartmouth Assistant Coach Dave Peters to Schneider Arena. Peters, who was an assistant coach for PC for five seasons (1993-98), recruited about half of all the players on the Friar roster this season ... Last season, Dartmouth defeated the Friars, 6-5, in overtime at Thompson Arena. In the first meeting ever between the two teams, the Big Green defeated the Friars, 6-2, at Davis Rink on March 5, 1953 ... Dartmouth has posted a 2-5 mark all-time at Schneider Arena ... Sophomore forward Mike Maturo (Manchester, N.H.) leads the team in scoring (six points) and is tied for the team lead in goals (three). Freshman goaltender Nick Boucher (Cobble Hill, British Columbia) and senior netminder Eric Almon (Falmouth, Mass.) have each played in four games this season. Boucher has posted a 2-0-1 mark, an .894 save percentage and a 3.13 goals against average.
PROVIDENCE COLLEGE (8-7) - Providence enters Friday's non-conference game against Dartmouth having won six of its last seven contests. Last week, PC split a home-and-home series with Merrimack. Friday's game is the team's last game prior to the holiday break ... The Friars have posted a 5-1 record at home this season, including five consecutive wins ... Providence has registered a 5-2 mark against non-conference opponents in 1999-00, which includes a 1-0 record against ECAC opponents ... Friday's game against Dartmouth will be the 22nd meeting all-time between the two teams. The Friars have recorded a 13-8 mark all-time against the Big Green. In the last matchup between the two teams at Schneider Arena, the Friars defeated Dartmouth, 5-2, on January 21, 1997 ... Senior Doug Sheppard (Georgetown, Ontario) leads the Friars in scoring (20 points) and goals (10). Freshman Nolan Schaefer (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan) is the top goaltender in HOCKEY EAST with a 4-2 mark, a .933 save percentage and a 2.15 goals against average.
