The Providence College swimming and diving team was defeated by the overpowering University of Connecticut Huskies at Taylor Natatorium, on October 27. The Providence men were handed a 170-59 defeat, while the women were defeated 189-54. The bright spots for the Friars were the performances of the men's divers, and the Lori Cosman's (Newburgh, N.Y.) first place finish in the 100 meter freestyle in a time of 1:01.08. The divers were led by Adam Letourneau's (Milford, Mass.) double victory in the 1 meter diving and Mike Maloney's (Plainville, Mass.) two second place finshes in the 1 meter diving. The Friars will return to action November 6, at Fairfiled University at 12:00 p.m.
