PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College Athletic Director Steve Napolillo announced today (Jan. 17) that Anthony Miccolis has been hired as the Associate Athletic Director for Business. Miccolis will be responsible for the management and strategic leadership of all aspects of the Friar Athletic Department Business and Finance Office. He replaces Martha Perez-Schmitz, who left in December to be the Director of Finance at the Atlantic 10.
"We are excited that we were able to add Anthony to our staff," Napolillo said. "He has extensive experience at PC and a deep love for the College. Anthony will be a tremendous asset to our staff."
Miccolis began his career working in legislative and administrative positions for United States Senator John Chafee from 1997-99. He also served in a similar role for Senator Lincoln Chafee from 1999-07. While working for the senators, Miccolis provided expertise on legislative issues related to economic development, small business, technology, transportation, fisheries, labor, housing, agriculture, campaign finance reform and ethics.
In 2007, Miccolis came to Providence College as an Advancement Coordinator. He held that position for four years before being promoted to the Assistant Director of Advancement Operations. In 2018, Miccolis was named the Director of Operations For Institutional Advancement. He was promoted in 2023 to the position of Executive Director of Operations. In his role, he was responsible for developing, managing and forecasting the divisional budget. Miccolis also served as the central liaison between Institutional Advancement and Athletics to manage and oversee all prospects and special ticketing requests for home and away games.
Miccolis earned his bachelor's degree in political science from Marymount University and his master's degree in management from Providence College. He and his wife, Colleen, reside in North Kingstown, Rhode Island with their two daughters.
