- The Providence College women's tennis team competed at the URI Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 6) in Kingston, R.I. The Friars competed against Monmouth University and the University of Rhode Island.
The Friars went 5-5 overall in singles play and 2-4 overall in doubles play. Against Monmouth, the Friars claimed four of five singles matches and two of three doubles matches. URI claimed their matchups against the Friars, winning all doubles matches and four of five singles matches on the day.
"We had many competitive battles today," Head Coach Jakob Klaeson said. "We definitely took a step forward today as a team and I can't wait to see how far this group can reach this upcoming spring."
Up next, the Friars will compete at the ITA Regionals in New Haven, Conn. from Oct. 11-15.
